How fit does my horse have to be?
A reasonable level of fitness is required. If you are unsure please ask for guidance.
How Long is the day trek?
Treks vary depending on route, typically between 4 and 5 hours of riding with a lunch stop.
What should I wear?
Comfortable and weather appropriate outdoor clothing, layers are recommended as conditions can change quickly on the moor.
What if the weather is bad?
We monitor conditions closely. If it is unsafe, we will rearrange or offer an alternative.
Can I book if I have less experience?
Routes are chosen based on experience and confidence levels. We are happy to chat through options.
What is included?
A guided trek with experienced leadership, planned route, and safety support throughout. cold drinks are provided in supplied saddlebags and at the end of your Trekking experience . For day treks we send you out with a packed lunch.
Where do we meet?
Full meeting details and parking information are provided upon booking.
Cancellation Policy?
Details are provided at booking, including rescheduling options where possible. We appreciate that sometimes things happen but we ask that you give as much notice as possible.

Is food provided?
For day rides, yes. Where lunch or refreshments are included, we can cater for dietary requirements and allergies. Let us know in advance when making your booking.
What safety measures are in place?
All treks are guided by experienced leaders. Safety is at your own risk for you and your horse. We ask to see that you have your own personal riding insurance . We are covered under public liability insurance for our guided Treks. A vet contact is available if required in the unlikely event of an issue.
Can I take photos?
Yes. You are welcome to take photos during the trek where it is safe to do so. Your personal equipment is at your own risk if dropped, damaged or lost on the trek.
Who are the treks suitable for?
Our Treks can be tailored for your riding ability and confidence levels, we ask that you talk to us so we can allocate the best routes for your Trek.
Can I bring Children?
yes, we welcome families on our Treks, we ask that children are over the age of 5 and always accompanied by an adult.
Will we encounter other animals?
Yes, whilst riding on Dartmoor you can expect to pass Dartmoor ponies, cattle and sheep. We ask that you make us aware if your horse may have issues around livestock.
Can I stay overnight?
Whilst we do not have accommodation available, For horses, we do have a shared barn for overnight stabling with bedding, hay and water on request. A field with horse box parking can also be arranged. Details of local hotels, B&B' s, amenities and an equestrian supplies store are provided.
Do you have horses to ride?
No, we do not have horses available. Our guided tours are for those with their own horses to experience Dartmoor with our expert knowledge of the area.
